Project: Digital Edition- Advertising
Our client partner IPC Media are well used to keeping up with frequent and sudden advances in mobile technology. Tablets in particular have aided their growth onto multiple platforms. While this brings them to more readers, it also means they have to constantly refresh their advertising offer, and communicate to partner brands what advertising with IPC titles can do for them.
No matter the platform, an IPC magazine has an important relationship with its advertisers. IPC asked us to create presentations and sales collateral showing what they have to offer on tablet, as well as the platform’s effectiveness and methods.
With their research findings in hand, we set about creating a presentation that presented a lot of data without sending anyone to sleep.
This presentation was a natural extension of the Connected Consumers presentation we designed in 2013. However, the Digital Edition focused purely on tablet advertising and how it works for brands, so we made bespoke design tweaks relevant to this content.
The Digital Edition had the same audience as the Connected Consumers collateral we produced previously. This gave us a springboard into the project. We had successful work and great design to go back to, rather than the drawing board.
Initially we presented three design options based on the previously used style using bold colours contrasted with bright neutrals and simple icons. Not only does information pop in this environment, but the eye catching simplicity mimicks the style of many tablet operating systems.
In addition to considering overall look and feel, we were met with the usual challenge of presenting a lot of data in a visually engaging way.
As usual, we developed fresh ways of representing the numbers, using the same engaging style of data visualization that had been successful in previous projects for this client partner.
