Full stack developer


The role of Full Stack Developer combines the art of design with the art of coding. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application, and then the implementations of those elements into a platform. Connecting content management systems into the site to allow for easy editing and duplication. Bringing an understanding of UI/UX by working with our designers and bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation; taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.


  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Advise on UI and UX and ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimise application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Back end development of custom scripts and validation
  • Understanding and implementing server, networking and hosting environments (locally and externally)
  • Interacting with APIs
  • Understanding content architecture and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Maintaining and update current portfolio of websites
  • Implementing and investigating new tools and process to make site migration more seamless
  • Run website audits, using best practices and user data, and make recommendations based off of the back of these
  • Understand and advise on technical specifications for EDMs, HTML5 ads, online video and social media
  • Build, test and integrate into email distribution platforms, responsive EDMs to industry standards
  • Build – to standard – HTML5 ads for Google and non-google ad environments
  • General advisor on all digital queries across the business

Skills And Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Advanced knowledge of a back-end programming language (PHP, JavaScript)
  • Expert understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms (such as mobile vs, desktop), and optimising output to match the specific platform
  • Expert understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms
  • Good understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates
  • Good understanding of UX/UI
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
  • Advanced understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of development aiding tools & code versioning tools (.git, bower, gulp)
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
  • Advanced usage and implementation of css frameworks (Bootstrap, foundation, bourbon)
  • Good data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Good understand of digital design tools (Photoshop, Adobe Experience Design & Sketch)
  • Good ability to turn online advertising into engaging web animation
  • Advanced ability to develop responsive EDMs

Mid-weight copywriter


The role in brief:

As a mid-weight copywriter you are responsible for the creation and development of strong concepts and persuasive, engaging and accurate copy that, together, help solve communication and business problems for the agency’s clients. You are fluent in tailoring your ideas, voices and messages, whether it’s to flex across a broad media mix or bespoke to specific channels including TV and video, digital and direct marketing, mobile applications, radio, print, web and social. Your writing helps set the standard for the agency and furthers its reputation for creativity and effectiveness.

 You work as part of a wider team to deliver exciting, adventurous solutions. This team can include art directors, designers, digital designers, the creative director, account managers, planners, production staff and clients. In addition you liaise externally with partners in TV and radio production.

 If specified, you are also expected to act as line manager (under the guidance of your own line manager) to other copywriters less experienced than yourself, with regard to pastoral care.


  • Understanding clients’ business and communication needs
  • Agreeing and understanding the key proposition and creative brief
  • Understanding the target audience and proposed media
  • Creating and developing original copy that solves the client’s business problem and delights the client
  • Presenting ideas to internal and client teams for approval and development and writing all copy from concept to execution
  • Responding to client and research feedback and continuing to fine-tune work until final approval stage
  • Sourcing appropriate voiceover talent and production facilities for radio, TV and video work
  • Working alongside an art director to help select photographers, illustrators, TV production companies and directors, models, cast and anyone else required in the production of final ideas
  • Overseeing the production of creative output you have been involved in
  • Proofreading work and ensuring that spelling and grammar is correct in all copy output
  • Mentoring and managing any less experienced writers in your charge

Media Research Executives (Graduate Trainee)


Differentology is a new breed ‘res tech’ company, combining research and technology to gain consumer insights. Our client list includes Samsung, The Times, Sky TV and Santander… to name a few.

You’ll be the latest addition to a team of experienced professionals who have built their reputation with some of the most high profile and innovative projects in media research.

Your average day will involve project management and analysis of quantitative research studies and investigating the effectiveness of specific client advertising campaigns.

A key part of the job role involves designing surveys, ensuring that data is properly processed and analysed, compiling data outputs into reports, and ensuring it all happens on time and on budget.

You’ll be based in Newcastle, but you’ll pop down to our London office occasionally too.
