Brand Ambassador

Our Brand Ambassador is the person it’d all fall apart without. You’ll have a range of duties and responsibilities that range from herding cats (i.e. organising staff events) to working with our contractors and suppliers.

As the first person our clients, suppliers, and potential employees speak to when they get in touch, you’ll be the face of the company. Not only will we rely on you and your organisational skills every day, we’d love you to be a pretty positive person to have around as well. That’d be good.

Responsibilities

  • Reception duties: Phone calls, greeting visitors, organising mail, general admin and clerical support
  • Office management: Working with contractors & suppliers, health and safety and fire risk assessments, keeping us well stocked with office supplies
  • HR admin duties: Inductions for new staff, recording holiday & sickness, making sure everybody’s up to date with their CPD
  • PA to directors and company: This means you’ll book travel and schedule appointments an meetings.
  • Organising staff events (and parties)

Full stack developer

The role of Full Stack Developer combines the art of design with the art of coding. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application, and then the implementations of those elements into a platform. Connecting content management systems into the site to allow for easy editing and duplication. Bringing an understanding of UI/UX by working with our designers and bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation; taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Advise on UI and UX and ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimise application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Back end development of custom scripts and validation
  • Understanding and implementing server, networking and hosting environments (locally and externally)
  • Interacting with APIs
  • Understanding content architecture and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Maintaining and update current portfolio of websites
  • Implementing and investigating new tools and process to make site migration more seamless
  • Run website audits, using best practices and user data, and make recommendations based off of the back of these
  • Understand and advise on technical specifications for EDMs, HTML5 ads, online video and social media
  • Build, test and integrate into email distribution platforms, responsive EDMs to industry standards
  • Build – to standard – HTML5 ads for Google and non-google ad environments
  • General advisor on all digital queries across the business

Skills And Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Advanced knowledge of a back-end programming language (PHP, JavaScript)
  • Expert understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms (such as mobile vs, desktop), and optimising output to match the specific platform
  • Expert understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms
  • Good understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates
  • Good understanding of UX/UI
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
  • Advanced understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of development aiding tools & code versioning tools (.git, bower, gulp)
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
  • Advanced usage and implementation of css frameworks (Bootstrap, foundation, bourbon)
  • Good data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Good understand of digital design tools (Photoshop, Adobe Experience Design & Sketch)
  • Good ability to turn online advertising into engaging web animation
  • Advanced ability to develop responsive EDMs

Media Research Executives (Graduate Trainee)

Differentology is a new breed ‘res tech’ company, combining research and technology to gain consumer insights. Our client list includes Samsung, The Times, Sky TV and Santander… to name a few.

You’ll be the latest addition to a team of experienced professionals who have built their reputation with some of the most high profile and innovative projects in media research.

Your average day will involve project management and analysis of quantitative research studies and investigating the effectiveness of specific client advertising campaigns.

A key part of the job role involves designing surveys, ensuring that data is properly processed and analysed, compiling data outputs into reports, and ensuring it all happens on time and on budget.

You’ll be based in Newcastle, but you’ll pop down to our London office occasionally too.
